Behavioural Support Plans

Development of behavioural support plans

A Positive Behavioural Support Plan is a method of intervention that focuses on the strengths and needs of individuals with disabilities or other special needs. The plan is designed to help them improve their functioning and quality of life, while reducing behaviours of concern. The plan also helps caregivers understand what causes these behaviours and how to respond effectively.

The Functional Behavioural Assessment (FBA) is an integral part of the PBSP process. It’s used to identify factors that may contribute to behaviours of concern and create an action plan for addressing them.
