Development of Daily Care and Life Skills

Daily Skills Development

Development of Daily Living and Life Skills service is designed to enhance independence, personal development and participation in the community. This service develops skills for independent living. The aim of this service is to enable people with disabilities to develop the skills necessary for independent living.

The Development of Daily Living and Life Skills Services assist people with disability to live independently, to work and participate in the community. This service provides supports for people with a disability to access everyday activities, make decisions and choices, learn from their experiences, develop confidence and self-esteem, manage their own lives and learn how to actively participate in the community.

Our goal at Mind Recovery is to promote the achievement of independence, choice, control and self-esteem. We support individuals in the development of skills and values that will enable them to participate in society as active citizens; make socially appropriate choices; communicate effectively with others; manage their own lives; and access community resources through advocacy.

Life Skills

Our skill-building program focuses on teaching the individual to increase their independence, socialization and self-reliance. This program emphasizes activities such as cooking, personal hygiene, grooming and dressing skills. In some cases, we may teach clients how to use public transportation, attend community events and complete chores around the house.
